Jigirr Jigirr was born deep in the ancient rainforests of Far North Queensland more than 65,000 years ago. Here, in the world's oldest living rainforest, is where they say fire originated, where birds learned to sing and a where a streetwear brand with a purpose, meaning and defiant passion was born.
Who is Jigirr Jigirr?
Jigirr Jigirr is the vision of Nathanael Edwards, a proud Dyirribarra and Dulgabarra man from the Mamu Nation in far North Queensland. His totem, inherited from his grandfather, is known as Jigirr Jigirr, the willy wagtail. In the Dreaming. Jigirr Jigirr is known as the messenger, carrying news between clans. He is a symbol of communication. Today, Jigirr Jigirr is still the messenger, carrying good news that this incredible culture, the longest living continuous culture on our planet, is alive and well.
